About Me

Info:

When I received my first camera at age 8, I threw on my coat, grabbed the camera and went outside to shoot my first roll of film. The thrill of capturing a fleeting, ephemeral moment in my small world opened me up to a deeper level of seeing. I loved everything about catching what I saw in photographic images. My eye sought out the glimmer of movement or dark stillness that would reveal my next trophy. I was hooked!

The excitement began a lifetime of craving for the next roll of film. My first studies in photography began at the American School in London in 1992, where I took several black and white printing classes. I earned a Continuing Studies Certificate in Photography from Maryland Institute of Art (MICA) in 2009. During my time at MICA, I was introduced to traditional and digital photography, painting and bookmaking. My work has been featured in several juried art exhibits and publications.

Through my creations, I enjoy probing the idea of an independent artist working in a digitized world. I examine how various methods affect the subject and the viewing experience of the observer. I take pleasure in exploring how these influences can be combined and expanded upon to create a new interpretation of a final product.

I opened my studio doors in the summer of 2007. The eye of my camera has introduced me to many people during important stages in their lives. I look for the special moments that define our time together- the look on the groom's face as he sees his new bride for the first time, the peace of a mother with her newborn child, the innocence of a child when they are in their world of fantasy. These images capture these fleeting moments in a life. They become more than just photographs but precious treasures to be cherished for a lifetime.

Mission:

I can't begin to tell you the number of horror stories I have heard about photographers who do not deliver the promised products. Too many are concerned with quantity over quality, time or simply do not deliver on agreed upon products.

My mission is:

1. To provide quality images that fit your budget.

2. To deliver a product that captures the special moments in your life in a timely fashion.

3. To be available at all times to answer any questions or concerns.

4. To take the time to know my clients on a personal level to fully understand what details are needed to accurately photograph their life.

5. To clearly lie out in writing what products/services I have been hired to do and to deliver these in the time set to my clients.

My goal is to take these fleeting moments in your life and turn these into images that will leave you breathless. When you hire me, you have entrusted me with these moments and I will take the time and knowledge to turn these into memories. I promise not to disappoint.
